CarDetector™ Mobile Solutions

The CarDetector™ – Mobile LPR Edition video analysis engine automatically scans, detects and performs license plate recognition (LPR) for mobile law enforcement vehicles. When any license plate is detected in the mobile video camera’s field of view, powerful adaptive optical character recognition (AOCR) engines extract the plate image, apply image enhancement filters and analyze each individual character of the plate, regardless of the plate colors or backgrounds.

CarDetector™ – Mobile LPR Edition is a proven way to enable police cruisers to detect stolen or suspect cars automatically by driving on the highway or while passing through a parking lot. This technology automatically triggers “in-car” audio/visual alarms based on LPR “Hot-Lists” associated with stolen autos and other criminal activities via matching against federal, state and local databases. CarDetector captures and reports data on unauthorized vehicles that travel through your designated security zone — even when those vehicles are moving. Gathering input from video or still images, CarDetector stores vehicle information in a database for quick and easy reference. It’s a must-have for businesses that need to monitor deliveries, calculate accurate parking fees, control employee access or secure such areas as airports or border crossings.

CarDetector records detection times, license plate numbers, license plate images and “entire car” images. The system can be set to alert authorized personnel when a “problem” vehicle has violated a security zone, and vehicle data can also be linked to individual owners.

For law enforcement agencies, CarDetector is a powerful tool that gives officers access to instant data on any vehicle that crosses the field of vision. Using artificial intelligence and state-of-the-art sensor technology, CarDetector scans and captures license plate information, then automatically compares that data to owner records — including arrest warrants, insurance and registration status or suspected criminal activity.
